Mark performed the lead Fire safety Engineer role in the first IKEA store in the Republic of Ireland. Mark was involved in developing a totally fire engineered building design, generally starting from first principles covering extensive compartmentation, excessive travel distance, smoke control system, etc as a result of the sheer size of the development. As part of Mark’s role, he was involved throughout the construction stage with the Design Team of Ikea and Dublin Fire Brigade in their pre-incident planning procedures in order to ensure the as-built met the design and key stakeholder’s requirements.
