State Library NSW

Mark was involved in reviewing proposed designs of the alterations and extensions to the State Library of NSW and to review the fire safety features in the overall building. This involves early advice, site inspections and meeting with the relevant stakeholders in setting out an agreed strategy and way-forward in order to both satisfy the fire safety objectives and the heritage requirements of the building.
Mark was involved in setting out a road map of items requiring earlier attention than others in order to minimise impact on the working building as well as recognise future works that may need integration.
As part of an initial risk assessment, Mark reviewed the existing building fire safety systems, fire safety standards of the day, as well as liaison with the State Library staff in gaining a full understanding of the buildings unique design features.
