Mark was lead fire safety engineer in his role of alterations and additions to the existing Golden Sheaf Hotel working closely with award winning architects Tzannes Associates and one of Australia’s leading hospitality groups Solotel. The Sheaf is an icon in the eastern suburbs boasting a famous beer garden as well as the renovated Garden Bar, one of five to choose from. Mark was involved early in the design to review refurbished areas throughout the building and assess egress strategies as well as the active and passive fire safety system in the building. As part of this role, Mark prepared fire engineering alternative solutions to address the exit arrangements, travel distances and smoke hazard management enabling a much more open plan, flowing bar and dining experience.
